Profile:
Stuart is a former professional footballer. He enjoyed a long career in football during which he played for Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers and Southampton. He was capped by England and won the Premier League during his time with Blackburn. Stuart joined Brabners Chaffe Street in 2008 as a trainee Solicitor and qualified in 2010. He specialises in Sports Law with a particular emphasis on football. He advises professional clubs, players and agents on a variety of sporting issues including disciplinary, regulatory and contractual matters such as loans, transfers and playing contracts. He has undertaken work on a variety of disputes before The Football Association, the Premier League, the Football League, FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber and the Court of Arbitration for Sport and also has experience in advising clients on immigration related queries including visa and work permit requirements. Stuart is a member of the FA’s Judicial Panel hearing cases relating to matters such as doping, safeguarding, agent activity and discrimination.
