TV stars joins Brabners for charity event
5/10/2007
The pair took to the streets of the city armed with buckets to collect money for the appeal, which aims to raise £20 million for the hospital, which is due to open in 2009.
Other celebrities taking part in the street collection included glamorous Coronation Street actresses Tupele Dorgu and Alison King.
The event, which raised £1,700 in a few hours, was the brainchild of Bury-born Everton star Phil Neville, and his wife Julie, who are patrons of
The New Children`s Hospital Appeal.
Their daughter Isabella was born 10 weeks prematurely at St Mary`s Hospital, in Manchester, and has since been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
Maurice, who is chairman of the appeal and senior partner at Manchester-based Brabners Chaffe Street, said: `Philip and Julie came up with the idea and I was only too happy to take to the streets and help out the celebrities.
`It was a great event for raising profile and we want to thank the people of Manchester for all their support for such a good cause.î
