Manchester property team expands
7/10/2007Leading law firm Brabners Chaffe Street is stepping up the expansion of its Manchester property team after a period of sustained success.
Partner Jim Purves has been promoted to lead the team, which has strengthened its ranks with the addition of three further team members to bring the total to 15, five times more than three years ago.
Jim joined the firm in 2004 and his particular expertise in the logistics and motor dealership sectors has brought many successful results for the firm.
Commenting on the team`s expansion, Jim Purves said: `This year has seen remarkable growth for the property team, with major deals continuing to stack up from existing and new clients.
`This has enabled us to expand the team further and attract interest from good quality lawyers to add to our already impressive range of proven experience.î
The new appointments are Mark Niven, formerly of Eversheds, Karen Parry, who joins the team from Halliwells, and Pat Bullock, who arrived in mid-August from Morris Homes.
The expansion is the result of the continued growth of Brabner`s property client list, with advice recently being given to new clients G&J Seddon, aAIM Group, Nationwide Building Society, Cory Environmental, Pricapita Ltd and The Shaw Trust on a number of deals.
These are in addition to Brabner`s more established clients such as DHL, First Investments, Manchester Utd and Begbies Traynor.
The team, based in Brabner`s Manchester office on King Street, has advised on over £200 million of property transactions over the last financial year, and was involved in one of England`s largest warehouse lettings this year.
This year Brabners Chaffe Street were shortlisted in the Property Law Firm of the Year category at the North West Business Insider awards.
