28/09/2011

Brabners Chaffe Street is the only law firm in Liverpool and Preston to have been appointed to a legal panel advising The North West Fund, the £185m evergreen investment fund established to provide debt and equity funding to small and medium sized businesses in the North West between now and the end of 2015.

In total eight law firms have been appointed to carry out contract work and the panel is split into three advice areas for investment and funding, employment law and intellectual property. Brabners Chaffe Street is one of only two law firms to be appointed on all three panels; the other being Manchester based Laytons.

Joining Brabners Chaffe Street and Laytons on the investment and funding panel are Aaron & Partners, Cobbetts, Geldards, Mills & Reeve and Ward Hadaway. Hillyer McKeown has also been selected for the employment lot.

Andrew O'Mahony, Corporate Partner in Brabners Chaffe Street, said, “We are thrilled to have been appointed by The North West Fund on all three of its legal panels. The region's businesses face disproportionate challenges in the aftermath of the recession and credit crisis and The North West Fund will provide many with the opportunity to expand, create new jobs and achieve financial success. We look forward to providing an expert legal advice service which supports economic regeneration in the region.”
