‘Photos for Fairbridge' - competition winners to be announced at exhibition launch
10/01/2011The winners of ‘Photos for Fairbridge', a photography competition run by a team from Brabners Chaffe Street LLP will be announced on the 26 January 2011 at the exhibition launch event at St George's Hall.
The competition is being run as part of Fairbridge Merseyside's Zero to Hero 2010/2011 fundraising campaign. Photographers, both amateur and professional have submitted photographs of Liverpool and the surrounding area to fit into one of eight categories: Architecture, Music, History, People and the Community, Maritime, Urban, Nature and Fairbridge.
The winning photographs in each category will be selected by a panel of experts, led by professional photographer Mark McNulty, and displayed at the exhibition launch event taking place in the Great Hall at St George's Hall, Liverpool on Wednesday 26 January 2011 from 6pm. All members of the public are invited to attend and browse the photographic talent whilst enjoying a complimentary glass of bubbly and canapés in the architecturally stunning Great Hall. Entry is free however a donation is welcomed.
The winning photographs will be auctioned on the night to raise further funds and all monies raised by the competition will be donated to Fairbridge Merseyside, a national charity supporting young people in the development of confidence, motivation and skills or a return to education and employment. The charity relies on donations and business support, requiring £500,000 each year to carry out its vital work.
The winning photographs will be available to view in the Gladstone Gallery in St George's Hall for one month following the launch event.
