30/06/2009

Mobile Inspiration (MI), the Manchester based technology company, is aiming to capitalise on the booming demand for audio and video content for mobile phones by striking a new joint venture agreement.

Founded in 2000, MI provides a range of mobile services, working with media giants like EMI, Universal, Paramount and BBC to promote their media content to handset owners. Its products include film and TV soundtracks for the ringtone market, as well as promotional movie trailers for hits such as Hannah Montana, Angels & Demons and Looking for Eric.

Now, the company has partnered with Wigan based cinema installations firm Saturn to deliver a new service which displays interactive film trailers on audio visual units and screens in cinema foyers.

Called Trailervision, the services has already been rolled out across 15 cinemas in the UK.

Mobile Inspiration which employs around 10 people on Portland Street, is working with strategic advisors from Manchester law firm Brabners Chaffe Street to help identify and structure new agreements with joint venture partners as it targets continued growth.

Matt Jones, Director of Mobile Inspiration, said: “Major film studios, music labels and TV production companies are looking for better ways of promoting and monetising their content with mobile phone users, which is creating huge demand for ‘best in class' technology and services.

“In the last 10 years, we've created a niche by helping those companies extract greater value from their catalogue by getting the right content in the right format to a highly targeted group of customers.”

He added: “This is a dynamic marketplace and being quick to spot and capitalise on opportunities is critical to our growth.

“We've been working with the team at Brabners Chaffe Street for several years to help drive the business forward. As well as providing legal advice, they continue to provide a sounding board for our plans and strategic advice which is important to a young and high-growth business like ours.”

Ruth Jones, Partner at Brabners Chaffe Street, said: “Mobile Inspiration is a classic example of a knowledge-led business that is growing by being ahead of the curve.

“We've helped Matt and the MI team develop its proposition and secure agreements which are helping to drive its growth. This is definitely a company to watch as the mobile market continues to expand.”
