Manchester lawyers wrap up insulation firm deal
14/04/2008A team of lawyers at Manchester law firm Brabners Chaffe Street advised polyurethane foam manufacturer Recticel on its acquisition of Gradient Insulations (UK) Limited.
Gradient, based in Wolverhampton, is a specialist provider of insulation for tapered roofing and will add a strategic new dimension to Recticel's offering.
Corporate partner Caroline Litchfield led a team that included employment partner Simon Whitehead and corporate associate Caroline Tindall which advised Recticel on its acquisition.
John Street, a partner in the property team at Brabners Chaffe Street, also advised the firm on the deal.
Caroline said: "The purchase of Gradient Insulations is an important step forward for Recticel UK's expansion.
"The two firms have enjoyed a good relationship in the past and are therefore very well suited to going forwards under one umbrella."
Recticel UK is part of the international Recticel Group, which is based in Brussels (Belgium) and is quoted on the Euronext Stock Exchange.
The Recticel Group (www.recticel.com) is one of the world's largest and technically innovative manufacturers of polyurethane products, including furniture fillings, mattresses, automotive and household products.
With annual sales approaching £1,285.2 million, Recticel has 12,590 employees working in some 100 plants in 27 countries.
Other advisors on the deal included Stafford-based law firm Tedstone George & Tedstone, who acted for Gradient Insulations.
