Brabners team up with accounting firm to help raise money for celebrities favourite charity
26/06/2007

Leading North West law firm Brabners Chaffe Street has announced that it`s teaming up with one of Britain`s biggest accounting and business advisory firms, Baker Tilly, as part of a stylish attempt to raise thousands of pounds for Coleen McLoughlin`s favourite charity.

The firms are organising a VIP fashion show in aid of Claire House at Liverpool`s MetQuarter shopping complex.

Six hundred guests from the worlds of business, law, sport and entertainment are expected to attend next week`s show, which will feature a catwalk display by some of the MetQuarter`s leading retailers, including Flannels, Armani, Hobbs and Whistles.

Claire House area fundraiser Ron Hutchinson said the show would provide a fashionable fillip to efforts to back the hospice. `I`m sure that it`s going to be a wonderfully glitzy evening to bring a real flourish to what we`re trying to do.

`Brabners Chaffe Street has chosen Claire House as its charity of the year and has many events such as this lined up to support our work. Having another major professional firm in Baker Tilly lending a hand is simply terrific. Both businesse`s contributions are so very important and so very gratefully received.î

Claire House provides residential and home-based care for seriously ill children from across North Wales, Cheshire, Merseyside and the Isle of Man. The charity receives no government funding and relies on £2 million of donations every year to carry out its programme of work.

In addition to being backed by Wayne Rooney`s fiancee, the hospice is supported by comedian Norman Wisdom and actress Patricia Routledge.

Brabners Chaffe Street chairman Stephen Burrows said: `Staging a fashion show is a fun way to demonstrate our support for a fantastic local cause. Along with ourselves and Baker Tilly, the MetQuarter has thrown itself completely into the project. I`m sure it will be a fabulous evening and, hopefully, we`ll raise a decent sum of money.î

Andrew Baker, managing partner of Baker Tilly`s Liverpool office, underlined the aim of the evening, which is also being supported by Cains brewery. `Whether guests are really interested in the fashions or not, there`s a truly deserving charity to support. I`m confident the evening will be tremendous success.î
