Brabners Chaffe Street wins Award for Employees Generosity
20/10/2010
The Award, presented by Workplace Giving UK, recognises the generosity of employees at Brabners Chaffe Street LLP as over 20% of them give each month to a charity of their choice directly from their pay.
With the national average employee uptake for such schemes being only 6%, their employee's generosity is particularly remarkable during the current economic climate and Workplace Giving UK believe it should therefore be recognised.
Employees are now donating £9,450.00 with a range of charities being supported by staff including Cancer Research UK, Help for Heroes, NSPCC and Breakthrough Breast Cancer
Mark Brandwood commented, “We know that around £900 million a year is lost to charities because people often give to charity with the best of intentions, but in an inefficient way. All giving from pay is not only tax efficient but is also really easy so with an effective promotion and creative communications we can turn our workforce's good intentions into fantastic actions!”
Peter O'Hara, Managing Director of Workplace Giving UK, voted one of the country's top twenty influential fundraisers, has been delighted by the amount raised. “It is so important to recognise the generosity of all these employees, particularly in this economic climate. The company has also promoted the scheme incredibly effectively in partnership with Workplace Giving UK and senior management have set an excellent example; which are the key ingredients to a successful scheme”
The ‘Thank You for Giving' Awards are now in their fourth year and this simple mechanism for giving to charity continues to grow year on year, even during the past tough financial year, with a further £2 million being raised in the past 12 months.
