Brabners Chaffe Street strengthens eco offering with key appointment

Brabners Chaffe Street has further strengthened its specialist environmental law offering and boosted support for its clients across the North West with the appointment of Claire Gregory as Head of the Environment and Regulatory team.

Joining from Hammonds, where she spent six years in the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Group, Claire has a wealth of experience advising businesses, developers, funders, local authorities and government agencies on all aspects of UK and EU environmental law.

Claire`s expertise covers general environmental and health and safety advice, including areas such as energy projects, renewables, contaminated land and brownfield redevelopment, corporate due diligence, environmental permitting and water and waste management. Claire has also experience of advising clients in the immediate aftermath of serious incidents, including internal investigations, attendance at PACE interviews and dealing with any eventual prosecution brought by the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency or local authorities.

She said: "Businesses in all sectors are under increasing pressure to move the environment higher up their agendas, particularly given the new coalition government`s commitment to developing a low-carbon economy. In addition to heading up the specialist regulatory and environmental team, Claire will also support the property and corporate teams on compliance issues.
