Brabners Chaffe Street organises Charity Challenge 2011
21/06/2011

A leading North West law firm has announced its plans to raise money for national charity Marie Curie Cancer Care with a marathon row, ride and hike across the Lake District.

Solicitors from Brabners Chaffe Street have organised their annual gruelling Charity Challenge which will see them take on rival teams made up of clients and contacts in the 12-hour event in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care, the firm's nominated charity for 2011.

The challenge begins with a backbreaking 3.5 miles Canadian canoe on Derwent Water. Next follows either an arduous 28 mile bike ride through Borrowdale and over The Honister Pass (1,000 ft) returning home to Braithwaite via the Whinlatter Pass (1,000 ft) or a slightly shorter return journey via Newlands Hause. Participants can then finish with either a 10 mile ‘walk' of the Coledale Horseshoe, topping out on Eel Crag (2,749 ft), with a total height gain for the walk of 3,806ft or shorten the return via Pudding Beck.

Last year the event raised in excess of £9,600 and over the last six years has raised a mammoth £44,600.

The event, which takes place on Saturday 2 July, has attracted 19 teams of 3 consisting of Brabners Chaffe Street employees and their clients and contacts. If you would like to make a contribution please visit the Just Giving page:
