Brabners Chaffe Street continues Preston growth with new appointments

Brabners Chaffe Street has continued its expansion in Preston with the appointment of Mark Grimes as an Associate in its Litigation department and Richard Clegg as a Solicitor in its Employment team.

As an insolvency specialist Mark adds to the broad range of services offered by the ‘Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for' rated firm. Mark has shaped his career at leading Manchester law firms including Pannone and Eversheds. He has 11 years' experience advising banks, insolvency practitioners, shareholders, directors and companies of all sizes on all aspects of insolvency law.

Mark comments: “During the next 12 months the UK economy will suffer record numbers of insolvencies and an unprecedented number of businesses will be directly or indirectly affected by those insolvencies.

Richard Clegg advises on all aspects of employment law and brings particular expertise in dealing with senior level employment issues including board-level disputes, negotiating executive service agreements and protecting companies from unlawful competition. Richard joins from transactional law firm Osborne Clarke, bringing with him a wealth of experience of the HR issues that can arise on the sale of a business or when outsourcing. Richard has previously worked for the in-house legal team of BG Group plc (formerly British Gas). Before he qualified as a lawyer Richard had a career in the securities industry with HSBC in the City.

Mark and Richard's appointments follow that of Claire Gregory who joined the firm as Head of the Environment and Regulatory team in May.

In addition Sian Ridings has been promoted from a Solicitor to an Associate in the Property team.
