Golf club captain tells his tiger tale

The captain of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club during the 2006 Open Championship is to give a talk on his experiences.

Andrew Cross had the privilege of presenting golfing legend Tiger Woods with the famous Claret Jug after he won the competition at the historic Wirral course.

The Liverpool lawyer, who is Head of Employment Law at Brabners Chaffe Street, will be the guest speaker at the Oxton Churches Ecumenical Annual Men`s Dinner, on Friday November 16.

He said: `Hosting the Open was a fantastic moment for the club and presenting an icon like Tiger Woods with the Claret Jug was obviously the personal highlight for me.

`It was great for the club, great for the game and great for Merseyside and I am looking forward to re-living some of my memories at the annual church dinner.î

The dinners takes place at St Anselms College, from 7.15pm. Tickets cost £12 with all proceeds going to the Wirral Churches Ark project for the homeless.
