Sparkling future for drinks dispenser firm after major acquisition

A Blackpool-based manufacturer of soft drinks dispensers is set to grow following its acquisition of a firm specialising in brewing equipment.

Booth Dispensers Ltd acquired Rotherham-based Brandels Ltd, which specialises in the repair, refurbishment and supply of beer and soft drink equipment.

Booth, established for 40 years, has a strong reputation within the industry for its provision of soft drink vending machines and dispensing equipment, and the addition of Brandels will allow it to extend its offering to the brewing sector.

Booth`s managing director Phil Elliot said: `Since the firm restructured in 2000 following a management buyout, we have continued to develop and grow in many areas.

`The acquisition of Brandels Ltd is a significant boost as it allows us to widen our service provision, and it is also good news for the region.î

Booth was advised on its acquisition by Tony Harper and Jamie Partridge of law firm Brabners Chaffe Street.

Tony Harper, a corporate partner at the firm`s Manchester office, said: `This acquisition signals a very positive future for Booth.

`Over the past seven years, the firm has experienced sustained growth and the addition of Brandels allows it to exploit further niches in the national and international brewery sector.î

Booth Dispensers Ltd was created in 1966 following a partnership forged between local company Carbonated Equipment Ltd and US firm Booth Inc.

Last year, the company relocated from Lytham St Annes to nearby Bispham to facilitate further growth, with markets in Europe, the Far East and USA being particular targets.

Brandels Ltd was established by Mark and Andrea Williams and has traded for 10 years. Booth has been a major supplier for the firm, which has developed business through an excellence in customer service which Booth intends to retain and grow.

Rob Kenmare of chartered accountants Moore and Smalley provided Booth with corporate finance advice on its acquisition of Brandels Ltd.
