Lawyers complete acquisition of UK's largest firm of independent chartered tax advisors
18/02/2008Lawyers from Manchester`s Brabners Chaffe Street have advised specialist professional services organisation Begbies Traynor Group on its acquisition of tax advisory firm Shaw Group Limited.
Shaw Group Limited, which has offices in London, Birmingham and Cyprus, is the largest independent firm of dedicated chartered tax advisors in the UK.
The firm, which advises a number of high profile sports clients, was acquired by AIM-listed Begbies Traynor Group for an undisclosed sum.
It is understood Shaw Group will be integrated into the group`s existing tax consultancy in Manchester.
Corporate partner Caroline Litchfield, Simon Lewis, Caroline Tindall, Matthew O Brien and Rachael Kirkup advised Begbies Traynor Group on the share acquisition.
The advisers for the sellers were HBJ Gateley Wareing, in Birmingham.
Caroline said: `We have worked closely with Begbies Traynor Group for a number of years.
`It is a dynamic company and we are delighted to play our part in their ongoing growth.î
Ric Traynor, executive chairman of Begbies Traynor Group, said the deal marked another stage in the group's strategy to extend its range of professional services.
