Brabners host Kylie Minogue memorabilia party and fashion show
2/07/2007
The firm has confirmed that it`s secured something of a coup, hosting the event on July 3rd, only days after the exhibition of costumes worn by the Australian star rolls into town.
The show has been on a four-month run at London`s Victoria and Albert Museum. It traces Kylie`s career from her days in the TV soap ëNeighbour`s through to recent record-breaking concert tours.
The event will also include a catwalk show profiling fashion collections from Selfridges. Money raised on the night will be donated to Claire`s House children`s hospice.
The charity, which is supported by a number of celebrities including Wayne Rooney`s fiancee, Colleen McLoughlin, provides care for children from across the North West suffering from life-threatening conditions.
Manchester office Managing Partner Mark Brandwood said the event was already the talk of Brabners Chaffe Street`s Manchester headquarters. `We thought it would be a novel way for us to thank clients for their support, providing a touch of glamour and raising money for a very good cause.î
Kylie played a series of concerts at the MEN Arena in January as part of her first tour since overcoming breast cancer.
The items in the exhibition were all donated by the singer to the Arts Centre in her home town of Melbourne. They include overalls she wore as mechanic Charlene in ëNeighbour`s and gold lame hotpants from the video which promoted her number one UK single ëSpinning Around` as well as hats and dresses from recent tours which were arranged by her Manchester-born stylist, William Baker.
