Brabners Chaffe Street business brains celebrate £5,000 charity success
22/10/2009Staff at Brabners Chaffe Street have made their mark as innovative business whizzes, after raising a massive £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in just one day.
Brabners Big Idea saw two teams of wannabe entrepreneurs in an `Apprentice` style challenge to make as much profit as possible from a £50 stake in six hours.
`Atomic Kitchen` offered staff a bespoke luxury lunch and cake service together with a charity raffle with prizes ranging from Heathcotes meal vouchers to a Goodison Park tour. Their rivals, `Team Chaos` opted to run an email auction of `not available in the shops` lots including golf at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club with employment partner Andy Cross, a free will courtesy of private client partner Mark Feeny, and even the use of partners` car parking spaces. This was teamed with a charity car wash to help boost funds even further.
After a tense boardroom standoff, chaired by Brabners Chaffe Street`s very own business bigwig, Sir Tony, Atomic Kitchen were judged to have had the winning formula.
The £5,000 raised will go to the firm`s nominated charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. Brabners Chaffe Street has already raised a total of £28,875 to date for the charity through a variety of events across its three offices.
"The Big Idea has really captured the whole firm`s imagination - not only the two teams of apprentices, but also those helping to donate gifts and services to help raise as much money as possible on the day," said Mark Brandwood, managing partner, Brabners Chaffe Street. "We`ve also seen a huge amount of generosity shown by businesses across the region, which has enabled us to achieve such a large amount for Macmillan."
