Brabners Chaffe Street and Rickitt Mitchell advise on acquisition of Confetti business

Leading North West law firm, Brabners Chaffe Street, advised on the acquisition of the “Confetti” online trading and mail order business by Confetti Celebrations Limited.

The Oldham-based business, which offers wedding supplies and services, was put into administration on 13 August 2010. Rickitt Mitchell introduced the opportunity to Confetti Celebrations Limited, who completed the purchase of the business from administrators RSM Tenon on 14 September, with card processing services provided at short notice by Barclaycard Global Payment Acceptance.

Brabners Chaffe Street Corporate Partner, Caroline Litchfield, and Associate, Jamie Partridge, provided legal advice to Confetti Celebrations Limited. Brian Higgins and Tim Ritchie of Rickitt Mitchell negotiated and structured the deal and identified Jamie Evans at Barclaycard Global Payment Acceptance as the best provider of a merchanting facility. Mike Scott of HBJ Gateley Wareing's Edinburgh office advised the administrators.
