Brabners Chaffe Street advises expanding nursery group on eight acquisitions
2/12/2011

Leading North West law firm Brabners Chaffe Street has advised expanding nursery group All About Children Limited, on eight acquisitions over the last twelve months.

All About Children was set up by entrepreneur Russell Ford, the former chief executive of Asquith Nurseries. All eight nurseries are situated in the Midlands and the South East, with the latest acquisitions being from international educational consultancy and not-for-profit organisation, CfBT Education Trust.

Brabners Chaffe Street Corporate Partner, Ruth Jones and Associate, Simon Lewis have advised Russell Ford on corporate strategy and business support from the beginning of his idea for the business, providing support and advice on its proposition, corporate structure, funding, property matters and transaction management.

Simon Lewis said today: “Working with All About Children from the start meant we were able to embrace Russell's vision for the business, advise on opportunities and indentify solutions, whilst moving quickly to secure transactions. Despite there being other bids for the CfBT nurseries, the seller was impressed with the high quality of care offered by the All About Children Group and its reputation for securing jobs. We are delighted to have played our part in securing four transactions with CfBT and advising our client on the development of a strong and highly regarded business with great potential for growth.”

Russell Ford, Chief Executive of All About Children, said: “Having achieved past success in the nursery sector, I wanted to create my own business where the delivery and provision of childcare was of the highest standard at an affordable price. We have been able to achieve this with a strong management team and fabulous, well-qualified staff. We continue to look for nurseries to add to our portfolio and remain keen to hear from owners thinking of selling their nursery. Brabners Chaffe Street's Corporate Strategy and Support Service for entrepreneurs - the brainchild of Corporate Partner, Ruth Jones - has proved invaluable in helping to expand our business.”

The legal team at Brabners Chaffe Street also included Corporate Associate, Ruth Hargreaves; Property Partner, Tony Fitzmaurice, Associate, Paul Nicholls and Solicitor, Stuart Speer.

Clarkslegal LLP advised CFBT Education Trust on the disposal. The legal team at Clarkslegal LLP included Kevin Byrne, Corporate Partner, Richard Higgs, Property Associate, Tanu Sehmi, Employment Solicitor and Kait White.
