Brabners assists Homecare worker
16/01/2007An Ashton-under-Lyne firm which provides domestic support for locally elderly and disabled people has been bought out by a major national care provider.
Shirlie Traynor, who founded Access Homecare in 1997, has sold the business to Care UK PLC in a deal completed by Manchester lawyers and financiers.
Senior partner Robert Street and solicitor Simon Lewis from Brabners Chaffe Street`s corporate department acted on Mrs Traynor`s behalf together with Sean Moriarty and Victoria Skelton from HW Corporate Finance.
Access provides in excess of 7,000 hours of care each week to the elderly, people with physical and learning disabilities and others who require care and assistance in the Tameside, Glossop, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Oldham areas.
Care UK PLC, which is based in Colchester, is listed on the London Stock Exchange with a value in excess of £300m. The acquisition of Access Homecare significantly strengthens its North West operations.
Robert Street said the deal was a reflection of the quality of service provided by Mrs Traynor, who will continue to work with the new owners. `Shirlie has built up an outstanding reputation for providing exceptional levels of support to those in her company`s care. We`re delighted those individuals are now going to be looked after by a firm with a similar dedication to their well-being.î
Sean Moriarty of HW Corporate Finance said: `We were delighted to act for Shirlie in achieving a highly successful transaction which reflects the pedigree of the business she has built up. It was very important to find a buyer who is committed to maintaining the same high standards of care.î
