Brabners advise Wolverhampton data storage company on HQ relocation
5/03/2008Lawyers at Manchester-based firm Brabners Chaffe Street advised the growing data storage group EDM on the relocation of its Wolverhampton headquarters.
The company is moving from Woden Road, the site of its national headquarters since 1974, to a 34,000 sq ft production and office facility at Village Way, Bilston.
The relocation occurs at a crucial time for EDM, as the group embarks on the next phase of its plans for development.
EDM`s chief executive Sam Ferguson said: `Following continuous growth over recent years, we have very ambitious plans for EDM.
`Our new headquarters will provide the perfect environment for the next stage of our development, and we are looking forward to an exciting new era in Bilston.î
EDM, which employs 300 people at its Wolverhampton headquarters, has taken a 15 year lease on its new premises.
The firm`s clients include Avis, BUPA, Lloyds TSB and the West Bromwich and Portman building societies. It is one of the UK`s leading document management companies, scanning more than 50 million documents every month.
Solicitor Mark Niven of Brabner`s Manchester-based property team acted for EDM on the lease of its new premises. He said: `EDM has shown its commitment to Wolverhampton throughout its 33 year history, and its relocation during a time of such growth is positive not just for the firm but also for the region.î
