Acclaim for Brabners Chaffe Street in national legal report

Brabners Chaffe Street`s Preston office has been highly rated as one of the best North West law firms in a national report, with several practice areas highlighted for excellent service.

The annual NW Legal 500 rated the firm`s commercial property practice top amongst regional firms outside Liverpool and Manchester, assessing it as `one of the premier firms in the region`. Its commercial litigation practice as ranked in the top tier of firms, and the Preston corporate department was also highlighted as an extremely successful department. Last year the office advised on more than £750m of deals, including some of the region`s biggest mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, for example HBOS` £7m funding of the acquisition of Taylor Hotels by Westmorland Hotels.

Several of the firm`s partners and fee earners were also singled out for praise in the report including Stuart Irons, the lead partner in commercial litigation who was recruited this year, who was described as having `a very calming approach` and as a `voice of reason` in his cases and head of the property practice, Ross Shine, was also highlighted.
